She now has the perfect alibi (SPOILERS)

When this kindergarted teacher just all of a sudden shows up back at his home his family sees that he's alive and they can just say he disappeared for a few days.

Now all Mary has to say is she was at her home one night and he broke in and just started attacking her. He then tied her up to the bumper of her car and drove her to his place and left in the garage. Of course, later during the movie she ends up killing the teacher but now she can say it was in self defense. No one will be to skeptical about the teacher goin crazy because he was bi polar. They will think he just stopped taking his medication. They will find the dead wife in the garage and cross check with the little boy and see that Marys story is legit and she was held captive on her own bumper. They will also see the 911 phone call minutes before his wife was murdered.

In case I rambled on this will sum it up. Mary can blame his bi polar disorder on the reason he started to attack her out of no where. She can say she ran him over in self defense cuz he was obviously wanted to do harm. Only thing that needs to be figured out is why Rick is wrapped up in her blanket and buried.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Considering her ear was partially bitten off and her blood was all over her house, I think she would have been able to prove that she was attacked. Then they would find his wife dead, the son could verify that he killed her and that Mary was tied to the bumper of the car. And finally watch the security camera's from the gas station where Emser was clearly driving the car with Mary chained to the bumper. Then he killed the gas station attendant. So I think they could rule everything out and let Mary go.

**Except for Rick being buried in the blanket. But I think if they did let Mary go, she could go get her blanket and wait for them to find his body.

I know you and Girth wrote these posts back in May but last night was the first time I saw this film on MGMHD. Did you see this on dvd? Were there extras or commentary? I would love to know if this really happened to her or she imagined it. In the scene where she supposedly hits the guy, it looks like a tire on the road. When she asks Rick to meet her on Clover Road to retrieve her blanket, he falls back to sleep! I started to believe a lot of this could easily be explained away.

As for your explanation based on what was actually shown in the film, without any alternate interpretation, and forgetting that this was a complete rip off of Creepshow 2 (though this was actually a very entertaining if a little slow, interesting little chiller. There were some very tense moments, making you wonder what was going to happen, even though you kind of knew), I agree with most of your contention. There is the unlawful disposal of a body and a LOT of dna evidence all over the place. I mean, I realize she panicked and is no experienced person, but I would not have used my own blanket to transport him, not dragged him all over the place in the garage, and not even put him in my car. I would have fixed the car like she started to (why she got spooked by the cop was dumb). I would have found or bought a tarp with cash, wrapped him in it (or plastic they use in construction sites), and buried him in the yard. No one saw what she did so it's not like they're coming to get her. Then I would have washed up everything with bleach (even though a lumen light could see) and I would have discarded my clothes and showered. Why this girl kept getting mud all over herself and never bothered to shower or wash with soap. She kept drinking from the kitchen sink with her hand and never washed or even used a frickin glass to drink. It's her own dang house - why never use a glass? If she had tarped him and even took him in the car and buried him, no one would have known about Clover Road. But another thing - she lives in this house with a garage that has countless tools (why the heck does she have chains in her garage btw????????) is there no shovel? Twice she tries to bury and unbury and does not have a shovel. A dish? Really? This was so stupid.

She could have called the cops after she escaped from him at Clover Road. He had tied her to the bumper and the kid witnessed that and the dna would prove he killed his wife, ate off her ear, and tied her to the bumper of her own car. She would have had much lesser culpability after that. That said...

Next, why she just didn't call 911 and cop to the crime. She could have even say she was somewhat intoxicated but with his problems, she could say he jumped in the road and she didn't realize what it was.

Yeah it could have been a dream or a nightmare she had, didn't think of that.

Lol. I dug the movie 2.
one point tho. I think that she did the digging with a frisbee she found in the car, not a dish. The other thing i thought is that under x-treme situation like she's in, she's scared sh!tless and makes mistakes, forgets shovel and all that. people behave weird when sh!t happens. when you're that deep in doodoo calling the cops is scary!
