Violet is a whore

Tom gave up his career for violet. So in return she makes out with her OLD professor? But of course it was nothing and she was sorry. Right? Oh really? So right after Tom and Violet break up shes off screwing him. It doesn't matter if they broke up or not. This indicates that Violet had feelings for the professor and it probably would have had happened anyway. If she was sorry and cared for Tom at all she wouldn't have dated the guy that was the final reason in them breaking up to begin with. But of course violate is selfish and decide she wants Tom back.

Sorry. Violet doesn't love Tom. Or she would have some ounce of decency and not dated the professor after they broke up. It kind of reminds me of what happened in wanderlust with Jennifer Aniston's character. By the end of the film I just didn't want the couple together.

Yet Tom was shown having sex constantly with someone younger than him. Isn't he too at fault?
Both had to seperate and learn that they were meant to be with each other.

Tom's move was reactionary where as Violet proactively chose to damage the relationship from the moment she got selfish with her career choice, and even more so when she found out that her move to Michigan will be extended.

But of course something that is overlooked. The professor's goal was to get them to break up. This is revealed later when she finds out the professor was promoting her solely on his affection and not any skill or qualifications she might have. He knew extending her stay would strain their relationship as we seen throughout the film and allow him to squeeze in. Quite frankly the two scumbags deserved each other. If I was Tom I would have told her to *beep* off and go be with the professor.

Rhys Ifans's character was her professor whom she saw a lot of. When they kissed in the bar, it was a mistake. What Tom has done with the young blonde had occurred after they split up (which had happened b/c of that initial kiss in the bar).

So for Violet to have been engaged to Tom, then the engagement is broken off because of her kiss with Rhys's character, to then start dating the guy that was an indirect cause of her broken engagement?

They obviously had Tom get into a relationship with the young chick that had no chance of working out b/c we as an audience weren't supposed to choose sides. Doing that wiped the slate clean for both characters so we wouldn't choose what one did over the other.

And then on top of all that, Rhys's character makes the statement that there will always be another Violet as if he didn't give a damn about her the whole time. So in a sense she was in a relationship that was doomed to succeed just like Tom's was.

And voila they get back together in the end.

I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least its an ethos.

As a matter of distinction, they did not make out. She allowed him to kiss her.

While she was incredibly naive in regards to her boss's affections towards her, she wasn't using it to advance her career. Therefore, she's not a whore. Just a blind, selfish woman with commitment issues.
