i couldnt believe it took until the end of this movie for someone to finally tell her what a vapid C U N T she was. i told my wife like 20 minutes in "i hate this chick". basically this movie is 2 hours, of which an hour and 50 minutes of her getting what she wants, and for the 10 minutes she doesnt she effs her whole up. i know its just a movie, but it seems like so many guys i knew, with some self involved girl, he should have left her in michigan for good.

I don't think she was THAT bad. In her defense, Tom seemed completely okay with moving there. Where she really messed up was staying in the program after promising it would be 2 years and knowing how much he hated it there. She did always love him and was still cool even when he went into creepy woodsman mode.

So yeah, I think she was selfish but he should have taken a stand earlier. He should have left when she told him they were staying a few more years

She hadn't even decided at first. She went to discuss it with him, and he acted like a complete child.

Terribly selfish. I mean to be fair, she was incredibly loyal, which is a very rare trait in women today, but still, he should have left her in Michigan. He put his entire life on hold for her at the expense of his own happiness. I mean he was a professional chef, in San Francisco for crying out loud. The guy was making a killing! And he sacrificed it all for her. And she never really appreciated it. She never thought what would be best for the both of them, just what would be best for her.

she wasn't that bad. sure she had her flaws as all the characters did, but Tom seemed alright w/ moving to michigan. he should've been more insistent to stay but as he said if they stayed she would resent him and he would rather be the resentor than the resentee
