I felt like there was some subtext hinting at an incestuous relationship between the two siblings... the only overt thing I can recall is when Linda tries to kiss him in that underground room with all the blue & purple lights (when she's on Ecstasy, I think), but other than that she's just ... very open with her sexuality around him. I don't have a brother so I don't know what it's like, and I'm sure some people would say "with a sibling that's just not something you ever think of", but personally, even if I were a stripper, I would keep covered up around my brother - not to mention the fact that she was always sort of ... leaning in toward him.

Or am I imagining all of this?

I remember a scene when the brother and sister were in the tub with their parents. She wave her before him and said to her "Oscar, Oscar". Like that was the first time she was introduced to him.

I was strongly suggested that Linda was adopted. And the brothers would probably find out. So, the thoughts of incest is pretty low on me.

You are definitely not imagining it. I think people who pay close attention can see many signs that they were involved sexually or at least there is a mutual attraction there.

Right after she arrives she kisses him a lot. A LOT. Up and down his cheek and then sucking on his ear.

Then she is like trying to dance with him in the club after he gives her that E. Then she gets drunk and tries to kiss him and he pushes her away.

Later, she is lying in bed with her jooblies dangling out and they are talking. I don't know any siblings who do this, but then again, I don't live in the South.

When she gets the job as a stripper and doesn't come home one night, he flips out. He asks her if it's because she stayed with her boss. He is totally jealous. This is apparent because in the next scene we see him watching her flirt with clients in the club and it keeps holding on his POV watching her.

Then this gem: he picks up her panties while she is gone and....sniffs them....

Then, let's not forget the kicker--after he dies he watches her having sex. He enters into the dude's body so he can have sex with her. You can tell this from the shift of an overhead shot to a POV.

Yeah....it kind of creeps me out.

Yep, that was actually the first big red flag that goes off, before all the flash backs that make it more obvious. I kept thinking "that is fking weird, he's dead and now he wants to watch his sister having sex? And then even look through the guy's eyes? Creepy.... And then the whole film quickly became creepy. :P

And I haven't seen anyone mention the fact he sleeps with Viktor's mom. Remember Alex tells him "You're young and good-looking and you're *beep*ing an old bitch." As almost like he's satisfying those "naughty desires." I'm guessing the film is heavily influenced by Frued or something. :P

Oh, yeah, forgot about that. "Now you really are a motherfracker" dude says, lol.

More than the weird incest, the thing that bothered me was the frames of black they throw in to simulate blinking. Instead of simulating real human sight it just annoyed me and took me out of the film. I still liked the movie, but it took me a while to adjust to it.

I think the fact that his spirit kept entering the bodies of people who were *beep* his sister definitely lent credence to that.

I think it's obvious that there was a sexual attraction there. Whether they actually did anything is debatable. The scene in the end where he attempts to engulf the body for a first person perspective pretty much seals the deal that he wanted it. But I think people are looking at it the wrong way in general. Yeah it's twisted but their relationship in and of itself is unlike almost all brother sister relationships given their life circumstances. It seems reasonable to me that something like this could be brewing under the surface for both of them. In the end scene he just goes ahead and fulfills his fantasy without repercussion.

It wasn't subtext--it was overt. There's about a 5-6 minute supercut of this incestuous back and forth between them. It's very clear that she's seeking his affection in a physical way, and prior to his death and through this it's clear that Oscar harbors jealousy towards Mario over his relationship with Linda. At first I wondered if Noe simply applied some French openness between them and it felt off because I'm American and I'm watching American characters behave so conversely to what would be typical behavior for their surroundings. But sleeping naked next to your brother, kissing him on the neck (while sober) exposing your breasts while hanging around, asking his opinion on your body, making out with women in front of him, wanting to see your sister have sex in a strip club, in her friend's apartment, in her apartment, in a love hotel--there's just too much evidence present to deny sexual interest being a constant between these two.
