In "Nurse Jackie," as well as in its prototype, "House," Vicodin is presented as a drug that brings about addictive sensations of euphoria, or some such irresistible and highly desirable effect. I've had Vicodin prescribed for pain and have taken it several times. I've never felt anything other than a slight reduction of the pain, and I've never felt any urge to keep taking it. I couldn't care less whether or not I ever take it again. The way Vicodin is portrayed on these shows puzzles me. Perhaps someone who has had a different experience can tell me what the big deal is.

You probably need to take it more frequently. You were probably taking it as directed or as needed.

There was a prescription drug I was given in 1970 when I had a badly broken collarbone that made me feel deeply relaxed and euphoric, like everything in the universe was wonderful. It even caused mild hallucinations, like I was looking at the pictures on the wall through gently moving water. I had a big bottle of those pills, which I think were a light red or pink color. There were quite a few left after I was fully healed and didn't need them anymore, and I saved them for recreational purposes. Once in a while I would take one, sit on my bed, and just let the euphoria wash over me. But I never got addicted. Once they were gone, I didn't crave more and I just went on with my life normally. I wish I remembered what those pills were, because I'd like to take one once in a while.

Yeah if you take em everyday, for a while. You will be addicted.

Plus you need to take more than the prescribed dose.
