every American TV show these days have one main character being British. Not sure if casting a British actor is just the in thing in Hollywood to validate a show but am I the only one that thinks the British accent don't go well with dramatic performances? I just can't stand seeing the bitchy female doctor trying to act New Yorker.

She and her character are both from London, and living in New York.
It happens.

She wasn't acting "New Yorker". She was acting like an Englishwoman who lived and worked in New York.
