Merritt Wever

the reason i stopped watching this show she is so obnoxious looking and cant act !

What?! She's the best part of the show for me!

reply

She's my favorite character on the show. :)

reply

Why is she obnoxious looking? Because she's a bit heavy? You really don't see a lot of chubby people on television so it adds a bit of normalcy to the show.

Merritt created a very believable character in Zoey IMHO. That she maintained and multi-layered the character over 7 seasons is remarkable.

Zoey evolved from a naive nerd who developed into a complex woman of great character. Zoey reminds me a great deal of women I've worked with who were a combo of strength, deep vulnerability & insecurity, loyalty, gentleness and kindness yet occasionally deeply obnoxious, annoying, boring and a slightly tragic. A brilliant character portrayal IMHO.

I hope Merritt has a great career as a character actress. 

Gioconda, what a great description! MW is my favorite character too, simply because I can identify with everything she feels and does. I am just like her.

reply

I agree!

Her character's enthusiasm and upbeat attitude irritated me at first, but she quickly became one of the most likable characters on the show. In fact, her character arc framed the entire series.

Add me to the list of those that love her. She's so great on the show, and like someone else mentioned she completely reminds me of people I've worked with.

reply

Love Zoe. The actress played her brilliantly. I wish I knew Zoe in real life.

reply

My favorite character on the show.

And the fact she won an Emmy for the role, to me, is... fúcking great.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Boy are you wrong! She is a great actress, and perfect for that part (Zoey). Most people just loved her character, including me! The one I thought was way too unbelievable was Dr. Roman! Not because she was so pretty, but first of all, she didn't look professional with her hair always hanging down, How often do you see doctors that do that? They keep their hair up and out of the way in one form or another, never hanging in the way, plus she could shed into an open wound for cryin' out loud! Plus; wearing HEELS at work? Crazy... and last but not least; she couldn't stand the sight of some things, like blood, and a person's cellulitus infected legs? What the HELL kind of "doctor" is that?!?!? Her part was just way too unbelievable for me. Dr. Cooper was too silly to be believable at first, but he came around and got somewhat better, she never did.

I have a Russian doctor who's built like an Olympic shot putter. But does that stop her from wearing black fishnets, stilettos and leather miniskirts to her office? Not if she and her swinging husband are late for a night on the town.

For realz.
