Dr. Carrie Roman Appreciation Thread
Hello all,
I wanted to create a thread dedicated to Dr. Roman because in three seasons the writers managed to make her completely detestable to downright awesome.
I didn't start liking her character until season 6...probably around the time when Jackie threw her under the bus by stealing her DEA number which definitely made her more sympathetic, but I think it was the events of season 5 (nearly getting fired) and her relationship with Coop that softened her up a lot and made her relatable. I also really liked the little shenanigans she got herself into with Zoey by the end of the series and appreciated what she did for Coop by "letting him go."
I think the moment I knew she was hysterical was when she accidentally runs into Jackie at the pharmacy (right after Jackie attempts to call in the fake prescription) and her and Jackie have the most awkward run-in where Carrie tells her she needs to stop sleeping with guys she hates after buying Plan B and ends it with the awkward "Thanks for the girl-talk!" I was dying. I also liked how we got to see her super-unglamorous walk-up studio/1-bedroom to show just how different she was outside of work.
Even in season 5 though, I enjoyed the actress' take on the role and LOVED her character ticks. The writers were great at giving mostly everyone realistic dialogue, but just the way Carrie reacted and responded to certain things really seemed authentic.
Anyone else have a complete transformation regarding the attitude to this character?
