I just watched the final ep of Nurse Jackie and I'm not sure if she died or what? OK I read through some threads and my question was answered. She did take her own life. Some feel she did it deliberately.

Jackie said her goodbyes to everyone in both the final episode and in the penultimate episode. When Eddie told her about his almost certain prison term for confessing to selling his samples to the pill mill, that was the last straw. Jackie had nothing else to lose and frankly, I don't know that she ever really hit rock bottom, or if it was even possible for her to do so without dying.
She knew what she was snorting and exactly what that amount would do to her. The return of "God" was also significant, as he no longer claimed to be or speak for God. That responsibility became Zoey's.
"You're good Jackie, you're good."
Jackie most certainly died at the end of the series finale. There would be no real reason for her to live, nor would it make sense for her to, based on who she believes herself to be. Jackie would never be able to be a nurse again, she's alienated pretty much everyone she loves, her marriage is over, her daughters are moving on with their lives, her lover is in jail and her hospital is closed. What would be the point for her to continue?

Thanks Rod. I agree with how you saw things. I just feel sorry for Eddie because he really loved her and even went to jail because of her.
shareJackie had a job at Bellevue she accepted. She still had her kids, and the final season showed that. Eddie was only going to be in jail for a year, and as much as that hurt her, she went through worse things.
I still don't think it was an attempt on her life, but just another act from an addict who took advantage of the situation in which she had the cocaine. It made her feel better in that moment.
