The ending (spoilers)

I hope she died. I kept hoping she would somehow come out clean and victorious at the end.

I guess they mimicked real life but I hoped for a tv show it would have a happier ending, or at least one that put a period on everything. We still aren't clear whether or not she died.

Snorting THAT much pure heroin; yeah, she died; end of show.

It surprises me how many people don't realize she's dead dead dead dead.

I honestly have no idea how much heroin you can do and still live...so that's probably why people (me, at least until now) thought she survived.

It is going to get wet in here tonight. Lace your boots up, kiddies.

reply

I can understand that. The point is Jackie sure the hell knew.

I just rewatched the last scene, and paused it. The things Zoey called for them to get, to help her, are not being administered. They know she's gone. The "line" and the O2, are just sitting there beside Dr. Roman and Thor. And then, of course, there's the song. She knew she lost everyone, and I think losing Zoey hurt her the worst. It broke my heart. I don't know why you wished her dead, even though she did despicable things for drugs, and to protect her secrets. She still, if she got clean, had so much to offer the world. Just my humble opinion, and as someone who knows a few addicts who offer nothing, I admired the care Jackie gave her patients. She just couldn't administer the same care to herself.

I just watched that very last scene again too, and I agree that Jackie is dead by the end of it. The song from Valley of the Dolls underlines it.

She's lost too much -- too many people that are important to her now know her secrets, and Eddie will be in jail for a year. When she finds the drugs in the junkie's belongings she snorts them with great deliberation, it's fairly clearly an endgame on her part. She's given up on the idea of keeping on.

Yep, she definitely died. The very last patient at All Saints :(

I thought the ending was perfect, what else would have been better?
