There should have been a scene of Martinez being freed

After the great performance from Michael Pena pleading his innocence earlier in the film, the audience deserved to have at least a shot of him being freed and reunited with his family.

The entire ending was ridiculously rushed.

Agreed.

Yeah, that was something I think should have been included. Or at least Martinez being told he was free. Something more was needed there.

reply

I agree. I wanted to see Martinez one last time.

Completely agree. What a tragic character without a conclusion... Sadly there are countless people like him incarcerated and for every one of them there is a guilty person who got away with it.
The scene when the dick is giving him a hard time in the elevator and he stops him to tell him about his client who killed his wife and was acquitted because the DA and police were trying to pile bullsh!t unsolved murders with fabricated eveidence on the case which gave him an easy way to prove reasonable doubt, is really great. The corruption is so deep there is almost no justice at all anymore. Cops want arrests that lead to convictions and the DA wants a high conviction rate. The truth is the furthest thing from their mind.

"Phvk the DA and the cops that helped them. It's called the justice system, that's not how it's supposed to work".

Great line.
