Harry Bosch...who should play him?

I saw on another thread a question about who would play Harry Bosch, Mickey Haller's half-brother, if any of the novels starring his character were made into a film. When I read The Brass Verdict, I pictured Ed Harris the whole time because of his role as Remy Broussard in Gone Baby Gone. Who would your casting choice be?

...It'd be a lot cooler if you did!

Very recently I'd been pondering who I'd like to see play Harry Bosch if there ever were a film made.

Currently I'd become intrigued by Joaquin Phoenix. Connelly crafts Harry Bosch into a rebellious, smart a$$, restless, rule bending, coffee guzzling being. Yet, Bosch is also a highly intuitive, perceptive, savvy, and, ultimately good cop who has a nice touch with the ladies. In addition, Bosch has some serious baggage and psychological scars and demons that haunt him; this would be a key aspect for the actor to embody. With all that said I'd love to see Joaquin in the role because I'm confident he could embody all the aforementioned traits.

I'd always imagined Bosch with a sort of gravelly sounding voice. It'd be cool if Phoenix could adopt that vocal characteristic. Maybe drop his voice into a lower octave similar to what he did in Walk The Line. And maybe put on a few pounds.

This is just my two cents :)
