Would the reverse concept work (for a movie) SPOILER

Ok, so at the heart of the movie we have a 'mad' Doctor who, for reasons of his own kidnaps a man and performs sex change surgery against his will to turn him physically into a woman. My question would a movie where a Doctor performs a sex change on a woman to turn her into a man against her will work? By work I mean would it be as compelling? Would it still be a horror film or would it be something else? How would the audience (i.e. You) react to this concept? What are your thoughts?

self-respect is simply the act of respecting your own wants and needs.

This one of the best movies I have ever seen. Not just because it's sick and disturbing but it does have a lot of heart to the story, and I shed tears at the ending. I think the movie would still be just as great, if they switched the genders around. As long as you can make it work, anatomically, for the plot, then it would still be just as compelling, at least for me, anyways.

The thing that first occurred to me of why he had made him into a woman.. was so that he might know some day what it would be like to be raped by a man, just like his poor daughter.

Funnily enough, he did come to find out, as the "tiger" raped him/her as Vera.

"Why are you wearing the stupid man suit?"
