Vera's Face

I loved the film but was confused about how he got his deceased wifes face on Vera. She was burned so badly, did he just create it? I dont remember it being mentioned anywhere other than where the servant said he shouldnt have used her face. Additionally she hints that there may have been other patients in the past that he became connected with. Did anyone pick up on that? Did I miss something? It was so good it may just need a re-watch

I took it to mean that he recreated his wife's likeness by re-constructing/modifying Vincent/Vera's features.

and we'll all float on, alright?

He was a brilliant plastic surgeon, aside from being a sandwich or two short of a picnic lunch. We see him carrying out some of his work during the film. It was not beyond him to nip and tuck Vera's face over 6 years, until it strongly resembled that of the deceased wife.🐭
