Ok, I know it's silly to ask something like this in a fantasy/scifi movie, but for the sake of the scifi bit:
WHY THE HELL WAS NADIA A BADASS SUPER NINJA FIGHTER?
Did she "evolve" into a martial arts expert in 6 months or what?
And please don't ask me about the vietnamese-only speaking technician on board an international space mission.

shareNo, I'm just saying it's not something I'd expect to see in a space mission. But hey, that's just me.
shareIt can be explained just like every other element in this movie: someone wanted to see it in the movie and then wrote it into the screenplay. This is pretty much Le Pacte Des Loups in space, where they invented a kung fu indian to show time ramp shots. And like this movie, it is the disappointment about the initial potential, which prevents to see it as the campy b-movie it could be.
