Have you seen it???

Anyone from the Sundance screenings would like to share their thoughts with us???

yep, waited in line for premiere tickets last Saturday. My wife hoped for celebrity spotting. She greeted friendly Anne Heche from five feet away signing autographs at the theater entrance, and saw bouncy Ashton give his intro and Q and A. Demi Moore looked our way for three scary seconds across the theater.

I may just be jealous of the young and promiscuous, but the Ashton character was as vapid and frustrating a gigolo as his jilted lovers said he was, and the movie didn't get any more interesting than he did. They tried to have him grow a personality, but he stayed a dummy, albeit a more experienced dummy by the end. I guess I do wonder if there are guys who reliably pick up attractive women for sex in seconds flat, and if there are attractive sane women who are willing to be picked up for sex by strangers in seconds flat, but I suspect there aren't. After that incredible social stunt, watching the characters grind out their unhappy relationships was a chore.

My wife did like it. Chick flick with a sick and twisted version of romance?

I was at the premiere also. I did not like the movie much at all. I thought there was probably too much sex in it; it became redundant. I got pretty bored. It wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be. I wouldn't recommend it. Kutcher and Heche looked really good though.

I went to the premiere also and didnt care much for the film. Not to say that it was awful, but there was nothing all too interesting in the story. And, as another poster mentioned, although they attempted to make Ashton Kutcher's character develop, he never truly became a likeable person who i ever really gave a damn about.
...It also didnt help to see this movie while sitting next to you mom ...awkward...

Is he naked in this movie? How often?

reply

He's nude quite a bit in this film, but the women are as well. I actually enjoyed the film, though I will say that the sex scenes were borderline soft-core, with the exception of one or two, which was unnecessary. There are people like the characters in this film here in LA, and all I've come across are as vapid as presented. This was a reason I liked it, because there are people out here who carry on their lives in such manners (though not in the majority, they're still in existence and were accurately depicted). So based off of that, I wouldn't say it was a bad film..just different and perhaps a little difficult to grasp for some.

Saw it at EIFF today and didn't much care for it.

Kutcher plays his role well but there was too much sex, not enough jokes, and as said above, very little character development. In fact, Kutcher is almost too good in his role, because by the time his world comes crashing down around him he's already established himself as too much of an a-hole for the audience to really care.

Also saw it at the EIFF last night, and it was vacuous, hollow and overall pretty forgettable.
I wasn't made to care for Kutcher's character, and although I thought his performace was solid, there was nothing about him to route for. The sex was dull too, lots of naked bodies doing not very much at all.
Do yourself a favour and rent Midnight Cowboy instead.

Seems that it is another disappointing remake. I recommend the original, Hors de Prix, co-starring the actress who most people know as 'Amelie'. The script is witty and the characters come across very well (the main guy I think is also a stand-up comedian).
