One of the most underrated movies ever...

This actually is a genius piece of a movie (haters gonna hate). What might seem like a shallow piece of a gigolos life, is much more! It's a character study and embraces the lifes' little things and living in the moment.

This is a movie that ain't going to be dated for a while. Being a single is a theme that is on the rise and nuclear families are losing their place in a society. People want to be free and able to enjoy other people without restraints. That is what this movie truly embraces...

Be a stupid individual and not see that... well that's why this movie got so low score...

This is a classic 'coming of age' film in the sense of all males essentially being children until about the age of 30. Some take even longer to overcome their particular self-destructive demons as shown here.

Beautiful scenes of LA and its more fortunate denizens contrasting with the emptiness our protagonist faces as he burns newly formed relationship bridges faster than we can imagine. He continues to be overwhelmed by the endless possibilities he sees for himself; will he ever get a clue?

Superb acting and directing all around. I was ready for the last shot to be a closeup still frame of his face ala Truffaut's "400 Blows".

On my all-time short list of favorite films!

Well put.

I think you must preserve the inner children in yourself your whole life which means spontaneity, curiousness, joy over little things, playfulness and being natural overall.

I also liked the acting and directing of this film and actually everything seemed to be carefully considered and all the pieces fell together nicely.
