Yoshi/Gackt=Ukyo Tachibana (Videogame character)?

I know most of the characters in this were broadly-drawn heroic archetypes, based on multiple ideas, but Yoshi really reminded me of Ukyo Tachibana from SNK's Samurai Shodown (sic) games, anyone else think so? Also, Killer no.2/Kevin McKidd really seemed reminiscent of a fighting game character, maybe from Art of Fighting or King of Fighters (I was always more of an SF II fan so don't know most SNK characters outside of Fatal Fury), or was he based on various manga/anime villains?

I'm not familiar with the videogames you mentioned so I have no idea if Yoshi is a character in them. I wouldn't be surprised though if he is because in the movie, there are scenes that are reminiscent of a videogame. For example, when the Drifter is in the police station, those scenes look like the screen of an arcade game. The corresponding game sounds can also be heard in the background.

I could see how you'd draw the comparison there but it's more likely that Yoshi was based off Gackt's character in Fūrin Kazan

He does have the Ukyo vibe with the whole silent he has.

As for Kevin, from Art of Fighting and King of Fighters I'd say no one specifically. However he has the look of someone that would be in those games and I think that's what does it. He actually looks like you plucked him out of the character list but there isn't a character that honestly matches up with him.
