Oscar Nominations...

10 Cloverfield Lane is probably going to be forgotten come awards season. But in some areas it was extremely well made, and needs recognition for such achievements. If anything, I would love it to be nominated for:

Best Supporting Actor - John Goodman is seriously great here. He portrays a creepy, interesting character who really comes across as threatening and almost seductive. He does Howard so well, which is quite surprising since Goodman usually sticks to more lighthearted movies.

Best Original Score - One aspect which is really overlooked with this movie. But from the opening, the film is driven by it's musical score, which underpins the tense and eerie moments. It's not just random swells of instrumentation either, there's quite a distinct theme, one which can be easily associated with specific moments throughout the film.
