best NOES since NOES part 2 in my opinion
just watched this one and was glad to see Freddy scary again and not a comedian. good story to. the original NOES is really good but i rate this one slightly higher

Best Nightmare film in my opinion, I like the expanded backstory they gave Freddy and the bleak dimly lit atmosphere of the film.
shareNew Nightmare is the best in the series IMO: it has the best looking Freddy (or the entity taking the form of Freddy, if you prefer), the film has a slick looking quality to it, atmosphere and tone are spot on (especially during the climax), and Heather is at her most gorgeous in that film. Also, I loved how Freddy was more menacing and less humorous, like the original. This and the original are the two best ones to me, but with all that said I find the remake to be severely underrated; Haley is evil perfection as the new Freddy, and the film has a great atmosphere and dark vibe to it.
