Why would they change him from a child murderer to a child molester? Murdering children is bad, but you would still like him in the originals for some reason (maybe the charisma), but making him a child molester just makes me hope he never comes back for any sequels. Hopefully their next try will be more faithful to the original in that regard without making me think of child molestation.

shareThe original Freddy was to be a child molester. They cut it out if I remember correctly due to a high profile child molester case the time the movie was being made. But Freddy has child molester written all over him. There is clear sexual tension between him and Nancy in the original. This is discussed in a documentary I watched. I think Never Sleep Again. I've seen a few documentaries so I forget. But even Wes himself says clearly Freddy was a child pedophile.
