You basically described myself as-well tough swap the original Elm Street with Freddy Vs. Jason and you'll have the same story.
Unlike Halloween & Friday the 13th the Nightmare on Elm Street films never let me down and have always been their for me.
I love the remake as I do the other eight films in this glorious film franchise.
I can go on for days about the other films but seeing as this is a discussion for the remake I'll retain it to the remake only.
The remake while my least favorite of the franchise still is badass it at-least tries to be it's own thing while respecting the original film. The Remake has a hard time because people are so used to Robert England's excellent take on Freddy Krueger that they don't allow for it to grow outside of him.I think Jackie Earle Haley did a great job under the pressure he was under.
To those who say the cast seemed life-less I guess you don't understand that most of then we're new blood to the acting field and didn't notice the effort they put into their roles like I did.
The Nightmare on Elm Street remake is without a doubt a underrated marvel to watch and is a worthy companion to his other great eight brothers and sisters.
