Why does everyone fall asleep so easily in these movies?

Not only that, but they fall asleep in the strangest places...

its because of freddy they are falling asleep. he is a dream master and as such can exert some level of power over them in the real world when they are tired. they have been avoiding sleep and as such they are technically in a waking sleep

If you hadn't slept properly or at all for many days you would fall asleep pretty easily esp with how run down they would be with all that fear and stress.
