You cant form an opinion unless u see the original. Its a classic.

The original probably looks dated now to somebody watching for the first time. And there's some patchy acting here and there. (Especially from Nancy's mother.)

However, there's a lot more heart to the original one. Though it shows that Heather Langenkamp is straight out of acting school, she makes you care about Nancy a lot more than Mara did. She makes you root for her too. Some horror movies forget that the heroes have to be as likeable as the villains are scary. ANOES doesn't. She's a real human person who has to bravely face difficult odds.

The first death in the original film is the best death I've ever seen in a horror movie. Brutal, and still looks scary more than 30 years later.

Robert Englund was born to play Freddy Krueger. He's a lot more dark and in the
background in the first movie. He became more of a main character in later films. This film would be worth watching, just to see him.

An early appearance from Johnny Depp. Marvel at how young he looks. And one scene he's in his really worth seeing. You'll know it when you get to it. Wow.

Worth a watch, even if just to compare it with the remake.

Why should you give an opinion of a movie you've never seen? Go see it. :)
