He did pretty good as Freddy! It sucks the movie didn't meet my expectations. But I was talking to a buddy of mine on who could be the next Freddy. I said Michael Rooker cause of that devilish smile. My buddy said Jake Gyllenahal but I don't think he himself would be up to it. I'm curious to hear who you guys would like to see take up the mantle
shareI wouldn't mind if Jackie came back. They could still reboot the series with Jackie in the role, or make a sequel that technically follows but also ignores this film.

shareJackie's star was definitely rising at the time of his casting (coming off a very well liked role in Watchmen..he owned Rorschach & can't imagine anyone else playing him!!) I feel like THIS movie set his career back BIG time! A damn shame, the movie was HORRIBLE, but his performance wasn't! he got shafted!
I'd almost be OK with giving Jackie another shot at Freddy...one that forgets this abysmal remake and is its own standalone story.
