Good adaptation of the novel

But I felt it lost some the intensity that runs throughout all sections of the book. And some details seem to not be highlighted or just glossed over. I understand the need to change up parts of the story for movie pacing and the want to present it as a film noir but they cut out some damn good parts of the book. Like the fiery dialogue between Jim Bob Luke and Dane's wife. Russell working for dane in the store. Going into more detail in explaining what the cops had been covering up. And so much dialogue just left out altogether.

I need to see it again. Overall I enjoyed seeing the characters and the story come to life. I felt the film was intense on its own but not at the same levels I felt while reading the book. I'd still recommend this to anyone looking for a good thriller.
