The first thing I thought of was the beginning of the song "Falling Away From Me" by Korn, the first few notes sounds almost identical and the sound of the synthesizer are pretty much the same.

Both the Dynatron and Cold In July remind me of the early efforts by John Carpenter.

Instrumental 80's Synth is making a big comeback.

I highly recommend checking out Makeup And Vanity Set, FM Attack, Lazerhawk, and Miami Nights.

I'm kind of obsessed with synth. And yes, That Dynatron track kicks ass.
