The best crime/thriller since Drive

I haven't been a fan of the director's horror films, but they had promise. This new film seems to be where Mickle belongs. I loved it. Instead of feeling forced, the twists and turns had me applauding. While Michael C. Hall is quite good in the film, he allows himself to be a passenger along for the ride led by Sam Shepard and Don Johnson, both of whom do the best work they have done in quite some time.

The movie has a wonderful 80's vibe and often feels like some great neo noir that John Carpenter never made. The violence, drama, and humor all hit their marks. I can't wait to see this again. It's my current number 1 of the year.

The Lego Movie still kind of edges this one out as #1 of the year for me, but they're so different it's hard to really choose. I loved the hell out of this movie. I watched it twice when I rented it on VOD last weekend, and I'm seriously considering trying to make it up to Portland, OR (about a 4 hour drive) to see it in theaters. It's that good. Did you see it in theaters or at home?

I saw it at an indie theater here.

Couldn't agree more. Was even better on the 2nd watch.

Drive was a huge pile of sh*t. And assuming Cold in July, which was really awesome, was the best since Drive, means you must have missed Blue Ruin, or even The Guest. And the only common point between this movie and the sh*tpiece by Refn is the 80's soundtrack... far-fetched comparison.

I thought this was a good film...the opening scene was pretty damn upsetting though. As usual Michael C. Hall was perfect. I think he's always perfect.

I loved the movie even with the huge plot holes. Great acting and it kept me entertained. That's all I ask of a movie ------ entertain me. I never seen this being advertised at any theatre in my area but I would have went and paid to see this and been plenty satisfied on what I spent my money on. M.C Hall was great as always.

lol...calm down...this movie is crap with all the lame plot holes, especially when Don Johnson enters the movie...sure its great acting performances but the movie and the script is a big mess...sure the 80s setting is cool but that aint making up for a script with more plot holes than spy kids 3...
