Michael C. Hall's character didn't work for me.

And I was a little distracted while I watched it so I may have missed something but I just didn't see his character's evolution from a shaky, desperate everyman to a badass vigilante.

I just did not see why he went along with Don Johnson and Sam Shepard at the end. Was there an explanation I missed?

I'll probably read the book which I'm guessing will explain some of the movie's holes but I'd still like an answer because this is killing me.

There really was no evolution. He was still shaky and nervous at the end. He just went along with because he felt empathy for the guy going to kill his son - he also felt that was the right thing to do.

i read on this boards that the movie was about masculinity, and michael C hall, went along on the shooting spree because he was torn because he only shot the guy becaues his finger twitched,.

anyways i did not get that in the movie, i found michael C hall distracting, because after they find about witness protection, he doesnt seem to have a reason to hang around the whole affair,

the police are also baffling, they looked way seedier and sinister, for what the reveal was.

all in all i believe things got lost in the adaptation.

Lame movie, bad script and not very credible story...why did they even take the lame frame maker with em on a detective revenge killing spree? so lame and implausible movie...first half good, second half very bad and lame. Only good thing about this movie is the acting.

My thoughts as well. His involvement with these guys make no sense whatsoever.

He was scared at the start then was pissed off. It's believable that he had enough BS and wanted to have closure.
