Paul giamatti as Bryson, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Katz, Melissa McCarthy as Mary Ellen.

Remember, when the hike was under way these guys were 40 somethings. I can't picture Redford as Bryson. Richard Dreyfuss comes to mind as Bryson but maybe 25-30 years ago.

I think PSH would be a better Bryson than Katz.
Katz I would like to see Zack Galafianakis or perhaps John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy as Mary Ellen!
