Read the book. They don't finish or even come close. But, as Bryson says " I hiked the Appalachian Trail."

shareThey just wanted to try. They acknowledged only about 10% make it. Actually considering the way points shown iirc - Fontana Dam, Smokies, Shenandoahs, around that overlook, they were doing pretty good. The Whites and then Maine are really hard and you have to be close to Katahdin, by sometime in September to be allowed to finish.
