The scene where Tom Noonan explains that he wants Samantha to watch an old person, not a child... is this pulled from another movie? I could swear I've seen a very similar scene before. Any ideas?

Burnt Offerings is what came to my mind. The premise of that movie is that the family renting the mansion for such a low price is that they must care for Mrs. Alerdyce who lives in the attic. Of course, Mrs. Alerdyce and the old woman in this film are not what the characters caring for them are expecting
