The Macbooks/iMacs everywhere was distracting

Lets be honest here. Most corporate companies don't use macs. Fact of life. They buy bulk for cheap from Acer or HP or any other PC maker. Unless its a creative entity (like a magazine), they don't/rarely use Macs. And if the filmmakers can afford to spend millions of dollars for A-list actors, they can afford to shell out a few thousand for some HP desktops so it would at least be realistic.

Not just in this movie, but ALL movies where every computer is an Apple product is DISTRACTING. And in this particular movie trying to portray this particular corporate culture, the Macbooks and iMacs are out of place. Just sayin'.

I completely agree. This has bothered me for a long time.

Does it also bother you that every guy in a movie has an attractive wife too? :-)

reply

dblitz - you are overreacting to 'what computers' are being used in movies ..
what the heck does it matter ? wh are you so bothered by it ? who cares ..
it's strange .. do you have a 'chronic envy' issues? :)

I agree. I was much more bothered by the crappy suits all the men wore. Anybody in the positions they occupied would at least have suits that fit well.

I was really bothered by his new tool belt.....and the fact that it snowed in one scene.

Yea, the owner of the company's trousers were way too big. He shoulda had them tailor-made. Took me right out of the film, and designing better trouser wear for all.

I agree - the people in Hollywood who get to decide what kind of computers are used as props are definitely on the "everything Apple, all the time" bandwagon. It's extremely rare to see a computer logo in a movie nowdays that isn't Apple.

But most of us using computers at work know that you're going to be sitting down to a Dell, an HP, a Gateway, running some version of Windows. This is definitely an area where pro-Apple evangelism is taking precedence over reality.

And for those of you who post that it's ticky-tack to care, think about it this way - how would you feel if everybody in every movie you ever watched drove a Prius? Or a VW Beetle? You'd find it irritating after a while, too.
