Far more interesting reading about him than watching this.

Tom Hardy gave an excellent performance (as usual). But the narration and presentation of the story did not hold my attention; though I did watch every minute of the film.

Reading his biography was way better. I didn't need the distractions the film put in: the tea-pouring scene, the theater monologues, or the repeated instances of babbling, in order to be interested in finding out about him. Still, he's a loathsome character overall. Not that solitary confinement did him any good. Clearly, he lost his mind and stayed ultra-violent. I'm surprised he won so many awards for his art. Have you taken a look at it?

I like the way Refn put it together. I didn't enjoy it as much on my first viewing due to how it flips between reality, Bronson's view of himself and society's view of him - but it gets better after watching multiple times.

I honestly don't think you would have that depth if it was Bronson's viewpoint as he char himself. Also yes he's a criminal but the film does well at creating sympathy for Bronson whilst making you aware he's a horrendously violent man - something which I think would be difficult to do considering his backlog of violence.

Also I liked how the film came from Tom Hardy meeting Bronson, Refn reading his books and the input of Bronson by phone and his friends and family.

I also like the way the film character was crafted through personal interaction. Hardy is the only thing I liked about the movie, though.

A lot of people seem to enjoy it.

I think many are like you and enjoy it for Hardy who is outstanding in this film.

I agree. Hardy's performance was wasted. This was such a repetitive and boring movie, I could have done without the artsy presentation too. I was disappointed. I expected to like it a lot more.
