Does the new Dune contain this immortal line?

"It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion."

reply

Nope.
Also, it's missing these immortal lines as well:
"The Sleeper must awaken"
"Folding Space"
"Traveling without moving"
"The first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of it's existence"

reply

Damn. Well, at least they kept "Fear is the mind-killer"(I assume because it's in the trailer.)

reply

They kept "Fear is the mind-killer", but it's very subtle, and is only mumbled for one moment by the mother.

reply

They also never said:

“The spice must flow”
“He who controls the spice controls the universe”

Apparently all the best lines are from the Lynch movie, they weren’t even in the books.

reply

I've always liked "The spice must flow!" That would make a good T-shirt slogan or tattoo.

reply

Actually something close to that is in there.

Also don't know why they didn't include Chani's line: "Tell me of your home world, Usul" in his visions. That was very central in the books.

Nor did they include the Shadout Mapes' line about owing Paul a "water debt" for saving her from the hunter-killer which was pretty integral to the plot.

reply

That line could sound too pretentious in a movie. It does not have time to build up to that.
