How would you rank the films of Villeneuve ?

Not for me, though I loved it I prefer aime if his others.

It's in the middle of my list. His small-scale stuff is pretty good.

To me, Villeneuve has that Christopher Nolan thing going on: His films feel clinical and too often devoid of human emotion. Characters and their humanity are what make a movie, no matter what genre is involved. I have only watched the first 40 minutes of "Dune" so far, since I am waiting to watch the rest in the theater next week on our half-priced Tuesday.

But, while the film is visually arresting, it falls into that more clinical Villeneuve mode.

His most accessible film by far. No doubt fans of the Boring Bladerunner 2049 will be displeased, may they be even more displeased by the sequel. :)
