I posted a thread on the 1984 version that the Fremen should not be played be pastey white guys. (Some disagreed)
A human tribe living on a desert planet for over 1000 years would have had a darker skin/complexion.
I figure that they will have the Fremen played by Arabs/blacks/Latinos in this one.
Arakkis is a harsh planet, maybe only the strong survived.

The only analogy I can think of would be Australia, though they have only been through a few hundred years.
1000's of years isn't that long. And the Fremen wear stillsuits all the time. Not much benefit in having a dark skin then.
shareThe most logical ethnic groups would be Arabs or, even better, Berbers. That fits the tone of the novel.
Latinos? Blacks? That doesn't make any sense unless you want to fit some politically correct quota, which seems to be the case, since they're using blacks.
Herbert based the Fremen and their culture on various real-world groups but particularly, I believe, the Arabic Bedouin.
