Should there be a sequel?

I like this one, but I don't really know how much story there is to tell, without falling into the trap of basically making a variation of the first movie which there's no need for. Most sequels fall into this trap. Is there anyone who thinks that if done right, a sequel could work?

reply

yes they should just make the sequel already

Sometimes, sequels work; sometimes, they don't. But, I really would like to see more of these characters.

Even though none of the actors were in it I did like the Amazon pilot they had. I definitely don't think this movie needs a sequel.

the amazon pilot was great, i have no idea why it didnt get picked up

reply

actually i figured out why it didnt get picked up, its because of butthurt fans

Seeing as they only had enough story for about half a movie, a sequel is probably not a good idea. Go watch Shaun of the Dead for a zombie comedy with a wickedly funny twist at the end.

Seeing as Zombieland was originally planned as a TV show, they had plenty of story.
Alas they made the bad decision to turn their TV show idea into a film instead. Which lead to a rather empty film overall, where as the TV show route would have given them enough time to develop a plot and deeper character development.

Then of course, ironically, they did try to turn it into a TV show (as they originally should have) and it never got picked up as it felt watered down over the movie.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.
Sony 16:9
