Great Movie...Until The Girls Were Phoned In

I hate when movies force female characters in them just to gather that demographic. You can always tell, because the girls are usually always badly written, or it quickly changes the tone of the movie. Like Columbus was this smart kid throughout the entirety of the film and he quickly goes dumb, risking his life to keep rescuing some skanks that constantly double crossed him?....yeah right! If they left out the girls, they could've had an instant classic.

If not for the girls, it would have literally just had Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson driving to Texarkana, and that would have been it. The whole movie. The girls provided the first real conflict, and were the driving force behind the entire plot thereafter.

You call it 'dumb', I call it 'character development'. Thanks to these girls, he realizes that his strategy of going it alone isn't worth it, and decides to fight for and rescue his little newfound family. Goes from an antisocial nerdy lone wolf (though puppy is more accurate) to someone willing to risk his life to protect people he cares about.
That's not dumb; that's human.

That's BS! You can add real conflict and character development without adding b@tchy girls and making the men suddenly become uncharacteristically dumb. They just did it to gather the demographic...nothing else. Turning it into a typical crapfest.

First of all, you really, I mean, REALLY think that without the girls, the screenwriters would just simply write about a "pointless" journey of the two men driving through the Zombieland? You serious?

Without the girls, they could think up a whole new plot to make the whole movie worthwhile. Without the girls, I bet they can come up with a better plot. Sadly they just settled for this annoying plot with these two annoying girls.

And what "character development" are you talking about? I think you should really research more on what "character development" really means.

The girls are unlikable, and if you like them that's fine, but many don't. Deal with it.

I agree 100%! This could have been a good movie if those 2 whiny, annoying bitches weren't in it!

I literally can only re-watch the movie up until they show up. Then I cut it off.
