how were they going to stop the ride they were on to be able to get off?
It was just the two of them

Was thinking the same thing. When she switched the electric on, you could see some of the rides start going round, but they need operators to control them. Also doubt the electric would work, as that needs some kind of human input, whether that's from a power station or a generator.

The key point with science fiction, fantasy or horror is that the fictional world needs to be internally logical and consistent. Thus zombies are OK in a zombie movie, but there should be no power.
