I think it would also make a great movie. PP's story had everything: an unbelievably difficult goal, close dedicated friendships, a love story and Manhattan, what more could a film fan ask for?
If people are worried about hurting the WTC victims families by making such a film, we all have to move on.
The new buildings should have been up already, it's all so typical of Manhattan politicians dragging their feet about everything! Anyone read up on how much money 'consultants' are making while the public is still waiting for new buildings on the WTC site to go up? How about millions yearly! Meanwhile, Mayor Bloombucks is cutting the jobs of teachers and MTA workers.
Anyone remember the Central Park Wollman Skating Rink fiasco? After months of non-stop haggling, red-tape and total bullsh$t, who else but Donald Trump came in and fixed the skating rink immediately! And for probably a whole lot less than the other companies bids were.
I also think Manhattan needs some positive vibes these days, the era PP walked the WTC towers was certainly a more innocent time, one which we'll never see again. That's for sure!
