... could their book dilemma only be solved that particular way?
I liked the series overall, but I thought the last episode was interminable - yet ironically, while taking SO. MUCH. TIME. to actually do anything there, the writers never explained why that was the only possible solution, or how the main character even arrived at that logic in the first place.
For instance, I thought they could have tried stabbing the book. I mean, there was a multitude of ways the could have attempted to destroy the book, but I thought there must have been a way to destroy it.
I also don't understand the logic of how just taking it far away would have ended the Boone curse for the kids.
