One of the best twists in a movie of all time

This was film was great, from start to finish! Nobody would have predicted the twist at all. Amazing movie!

Yes. You are right. Very, very unpredictable twist!

I liked it better when it was a Bugs Bunny cartoon called Baby Buggy Bunny.

Baby Buggy Bunny is a Merrie Melodies animated short directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese, released in 1954.

The animated short begins with a very tall, shadowy figure in a trench coat who is robbing a bank. After running away with the cash, the bank robber runs over to a baby carriage and throws the money into it, then he strips away the long coat to reveal that he's actually a dwarf on stilts! A twist that happened 50 years before this movie.

He then dresses like a baby and hides in the baby carriage to escape the police. However, the dwarf loses his ill-gotten gains down Bugs Bunny's rabbit hole, forcing him to don the disguise of an abandoned baby to get it back, and Bugs Bunny basically adopts the "baby" but finds it suspicious that the baby is obsessed with the money bag, shaves, has a military tattoo, and looks like the mugshot of the dwarf on TV.

Yep, a neat, nice little twist if you stayed away from the previews for the film and not try to guess it. I was floored. Especially sitting in the theatre on two Norcos to help me get into the movie. :)

8 mg of suBoxone in and I feel like this movie's getting better

is this the one, "Oh Finsta? Oh Finsta baby?" Baby-faced Finster? My brother imitates it all the time.

reply

I agree, one of the best I have ever seen.

reply

I often guess the twists (annoying) but didn't see that one coming. Jaw dropping and well played

reply

Is that really even a twist? What does it change about the story? They could have just as easily said she was a demon spawn from Satan and had the same movie.

reply

I actually guessed it very early on.

I agree.

When it comes to twists in Horror films a lot of people mention the first Saw film. I think Orphans twists was much better, more predictable sure but superior. A twist isn't solely rated on how unpredictable it is but also the impact it has on the film.

Any film can pull a bullshit 'wait what?' twist out of it's ass if it so wishes, simply throw caution to the wind and let the plot holes flow. (High Tension 2003 is a great film but it's twist is an example of one that makes the preceeding events lesser).

The Others (2001), The Orphanage (2007) & Orphan (2009) are three of my favorite twists in the genre.
