Duck instead of Chicken?

What was the problem with that? I don't understand why Georgia was going to freak out when she found out that it was duck and not chicken. I heard her say she was allergic to crab, but that's it. Did I miss something? >__>

reply

Same here. I must have missed it too.

I don't know if I've lived 10,000 days, or one day 10,000 times...

reply

Not 100% certain - but she was a "star" and she was lied to! Other than that (the thing that they were a chicken household - which was laughable) nothing made sense.

reply

yeah that scene bothered me throughout the movie until the end i finally got up and went online to see what it was all about. alas imdb has failed me!

reply

The line or two that explained that bit probably ended up on the cutting room floor.

reply

It probably did end up on the cutting room floor. But in the beginning she was saying that seafood made her get hives. So maybe she's either allergic or duck makes her sick in some way. They carelessly edited that explanation out.

reply

Some people are very fussy eaters, unwilling to try different things. They only eat "safe" food like white meat chicken, hamburgers, pizza, spaghetti, etc. She is probably one of those people. I once had a coworker who saw my take out lunch, which was Japanese roasted eel, and said it smelled great. I gave her a piece, she put it in her mouth and seemed to be enjoying it. While chewing, she asked what it was and, when I told her it was eel, she immediately spit it out into a napkin.

reply

Sounds delicious!!! Brings back smoked eel from my childhood.

reply

Are you kidding? If you're not a duck-eater, chances are you'll probably freak out if you're told something is chicken and it's actually duck. I'd sure as hell freak out. Some people just can't stand certain foods. It's really quite simple.

reply

Most people would not freak out about such a thing because they aren't tight-asses.

reply

But I think that the point is that she is a stuck up b***h and is probably a prissy eater. I don't think it was edited out, I think they just left it implied. She'd already complained about some food and has a prissy look and demeanor. Could've been set up better, but I think it still worked.

reply

I agree. I just did not see the issue with duck at all.

reply

They were upset because ducks are cute and they didn't want to eat one.

reply

it was just duck for goodness sakes. you'd think that by the way she reacted, it was frog legs or something!

I thought that was lame too, I mean seriously, people who can't try new things are missing out on life! When I went on a cruise on my honeymoon I told myself I would try anything I hadn't eaten before. I had duck and enjoyed it :)

reply

I just finished this movie and that scene left a bit confused too. I mean, I actually rewind the movie a bit to see if I've missed something that would explain her reaction.

They way the scene played out and considering the way she reacted, sounded like it was supposed to be something funny, but I still don't see what's funny about that.

-Hi.Big fan. - Why wouldn't you be?
