Why was this such a turnoff? When she called him and asked if he wanted to go to the bistro and art opening. She wasn't sounding pushy or desperate; it was just an invitation.

I know you wrote this a while ago but I agree. I also thought it was stupid how Colin magically became interested in her because she hung up on him??? uhh yeah right.
shareI don't think it's too much a stretch for a person to become interested rather suddenly in a person who shows interest in them but then rebuffs them for no apparent reason. It definitely is a way to get them thinking about why the sudden change in aptitude... not everyone will take the bait, but I don't think it's unbelievable for it to happen.
