Not for fun, for education
Idiocracy is one of the most important movies of our time, it doesn’t work well as a comedy but it works perfectly well as a documentary, underlining the average people stupidity leading the world to a serious catastrophe.
In my opinion, Apparitions will never work as horror show, but works perfectly well as a vehicle to expose some important concepts which are often let aside by mainstream media. It must be watched, not for fun, but for education purpose; entertainment is not the only reason to watch TV.
The religious rape, when baptism or conversion is performed against the will or awareness, or when a man is out of his mind facing difficulties, is one important concept put out in the first two episodes. That religious rape turned a father into a pedophile, making of him an empty vessel to demons. Atheism or read atheist books are not causes for possession of demons, an invasive religious act is. This is unique in a TV show.
It's fear, not homosexuality, what opens the door for demons.
A religious view may be perfect eligible to its followers, but a complete disaster to others, as when the demon says to the priest that exorcism means death for its followers and this is why he is trying to prevent Father Jacob to be the chief exorcist.
It’s a great show, and I hope the next episodes don’t collapse under the weight of the average viewers’ idiocracy.
