Another series????

Does anyone know if there are any plans for a further series?

I think this show deserves one as it has come a long way and managed to prove itself.
Plus it's brilliant.

I have checked on the BBC web site but so far nada.

I have also found a ratings site and it was on it for the first week of viewing, 14th November but as we all know dropped off the following two weeks.

Anyway if anyone knows either way, please post.

Really hoping this gets another series.
It's fantastic, plus think it will as the BBC has given second seriries to shows that were worse then this...so definetely think it a good possibility.

I would love to see a 2nd series. Its been the best show on TV recently. Its unfortunate that the BBC didn't publicise it more. It would surely have attracted many more viewers if they had.

reply

I really hope so. I've contacted the BBC, but no answer so far.

reply

May I ask, what address you used to email the BBC?

I would love to do so to.

I'd really love to see another series, because it was by far the best show they've produced in years. However if they're going by ratings I'm not very hopeful that we'll be getting another series :(

reply

I think the chances of another series are slim. 'Bone Kickers' isn't being renewed, and it constantly got higher ratings than 'Apparitions'.

reply

True but it has now had loads of good reviews from the general public so I am hoping our cries will have been heard.
Also it is up 17% according to the IMDb monitor.

I am also hoping that as The BBC will need to commision something for the new year, they will rather go for an already established show with a growing fan base then start from scratch and take another risk.

Especially in this climate of ecomonic downturn.

Found this on the BBC website...you can recommend programmes...

On the main body of the form click the WEBFORM link...

From the drop-down select APPRECIATION
Then fill out the rest of the form singing the series praises.....

Fingers crossed it gets another series, truly deserves it.

I think Bonekickers got high ratings because it had such huge publicity and quite a few top stars, but it was crap and glad it did not get another series, it is a shame as the premise for the show was good, just badly put together and not sure of what it wanted to do.

I was hoping, that with the recent exposure Martin Shaw received over having a stalker, this would have been an ideal opportunity for the BBC to announce another series.

Ho hum

I have just been on the BBC Points of View site and read this

Unfortunately, the BBC in its infinite wisdom has decided NOT to commission a second series.

They claim the ratings weren't good enough... seeing as they put it up against an extremely popular and established reality show, it's hardly surprising the ratings struggled.

They really should give it a second series - it was original, thought-provoking and brilliantly acted. I'm sure its popularity would grow as more people had a chance to watch it

Although I reported a few days ago that the BBC were not going to consider another series, there has now been talks of repeating the first series.

Let's all hope so.

Is this definitive?
If it is... Sucks! I was expecting a second season of this highly addictive show!

reply

I really wanted a second season too but it seems that the BBC have instead gone for another series of George Gently.

I will keep hunting and reporting back.

George Gently...that series is terrible...they could at least do more Judge John Deed..now that is a fantastic show.

I am such a Martin Shaw fan....deeelishUS
