Big mistake!!!

I have seen the first episode of this show and there is a huge mistake: the guy who is supposed to be possessed is referred to as an atheist by father Jacob. An atheist is someone who doesn't believe. The guy was very much interested and definitely believed in God; he just chose the other side. That kind of belief is satanism, not atheism.
I am agnostic (which means, to those who do not know, I believe that I just don't know whether God exists or not) and anti-religion. This show is full of superstitions, religious inaccuracies and lies. If they were more intelligent about it I would have enjoyed it even though I could never believe it. But they made atheism (by mistake maybe) and homosexuality to be the devil.
People can believe anything they want as far as I'm concerned as long as they don't try to impose their beliefs onto others. And this show does impose their prejudice onto the viewer.

It is what it is,.

Absolute bollocks, you need to re-watch. The possessed guy does not believe in religon at all, he views it as mumbo jumbo, hence an easy target according to Christian belief.

If you spent time watching the show rather than deciding to have a rant, you would note that the actual script is close to Catholic dogma and is an accurate presentation of such.

Please note I'm not a Christian myself, but believe an attack on a show simply because it doesn't conform to your own belief systems is anti-intellectualism.

Would love to get a Jewish perspective on this one btw.

"This show is full of superstitions, religious inaccuracies and lies."

Superstitions and exorcism seems to pretty much go hand in hand. No surprise there.

I'm not sure about religious inaccuracy. The film has odd twists on a lot religious ideas, but the central Catholic beliefs have been pretty well researched.

At the end of the day, the show isn't interested in truth. It's all fiction. The writer of the show is an atheist. The show is just imagining what the world might be like if exorcism was real and demons existed.

And no, there's no mistake. That guy doesn't believe in the devil or God, hence "atheist". Also, you'll notice that by the end he turns out to be an innocent victim of demonic possession. They don't ever make atheism or homosexuality out to be the devil in this show. That's completely wrong.

In fact there's a lot of grey areas running all through the show. Even in the case of the demons, since there's even the suggestion that the demons might have a genuine case against God, comparing their mass condemnation to hell to the suffering of the Jews in the holocaust.
