If David Lynch and Wes Anderson had a love child...
...that child would grow up to write and direct a film much like this one. As it happens, the writing and directing of "Strawberry Mansion" was the collective effort of two people, Kentucker Audley and Albert Birney. It's worth seeing once just for its sheer imagination and creativity. But after a while, the surreal nature of it wore a little thin for me. Perhaps if the same amount of effort had been expended on real character development, it might have held my interest more. Still, points for originality.
