Why Did The Little Prawn Throw The Sweets At Wikus?

Wikus wasn't expecting it when what I assume were "sweets" hit him in the face. Why would the little prawn do that? Wikus gave the prawn those sweets to soften him up, yet the prawn wasn't interested. 

wouldn't you be scared/untrusting of some weird guy skulking about whispering 'it's the sweetie maaaaan'.
